Banana Republic Fall Favorites
One of the best things about fall is… the fall fashion! With temps quickly dropping here in Colorado (it already snowed here last week!), I’ve been placing orders left and right to build my little mini fall capsule. I was pleasantly surprised by how many amazing basics and special pieces I found at Banana Republic! Below, I’m sharing 16 of my Banana Republic fall favorites…
By the way, if you want to see our beautiful fall capsule wardrobe graphic we create every season, you can find that here. Plus, when you sign up for our newsletter, you get access to a lookbook with 30+ outfit ideas too!
#1) Bomber Jacket
Every fall, I like to find at least one special jacket or coat that has a great fit, a unique look, and gives me all the cozy vibes. I tried this bomber jacket on and instantly fell in love. It’s SO good…just trust me! I love the dramatic, oversized ribbed collar. The sleeves are also pretty roomy so you can layer chunkier sweaters underneath, no problem. And the herringbone tweed fabric is so beautiful in person. You can wear this with sweaters and jeans, dresses, skirts and blouses. It’s very versatile! I’m wearing a size small and it runs true to size but is designed to have a more relaxed fit. It’s also available in petite sizes.
#2) Blue Fuzzy Sweater
Everyone needs that one cozy sweater they can just throw on with leggings, jeans, pants, joggers, or skirts and be out the door in minutes. Instead of a basic black sweater, consider adding a pop of color to your fall wardrobe. I love the bright cobalt blue color of this fuzzy sweater. It has a longer length (great for casually wearing with leggings), a cozy mock-neck, and slouchy sleeves. The alpaca-blend knit fabric is also SO soft! I’m wearing a small and it runs TTS, but it’s designed to fit more oversized. It also comes in petite.
#3) Black Knit Sleeveless Sweater
This next look is SO good and so versatile! I’m wearing a sleeveless black knit sweater and a matching knit skirt. The beauty of these two pieces is that you can mix and match them with other pieces in your closet. This sleeveless cashmere sweater has a draped neck and body-skimming fit through the body. You could wear this with jeans for a casual look, pants and a blazer for the office, or any other bottoms in your closet! I’m wearing a small and it runs true to size.
#4) Matching Black Knit Skirt
The skirt is just as versatile as the top. I love the ribbed texture, the lightweight wool that’s not too hot, and the super flattering silhouette. I’m wearing a size small petite and the fit and length is perfect for me (I’m 5’4”) but it also comes in tall and regular lengths. You can wear this skirt with other blouses in your closet to really get some mileage out of it too.
#5) Wide Whipstitch Belt
With the sweater tank and black skirt, I threw on a waist-defining belt that’s so beautiful. Adding a belt like this can help accentuate the waist and break up an all-black. It has really pretty whipstitch detailing, the hardware isn’t too over-the-top, and the width is perfect. I’m wearing a small and it fits true to size.
#6) Camel Wool Blazer
Next up is an office-ready outfit! I’m wearing a beautiful camel blazer that’s such a good basic for fall. You can style this with jeans for an elevated casual look, any pants for the office, or even with a dress for an event. It’s a really soft wool that’s warm but breathable, has a little stretch, and is wrinkle-resistant. If you don’t already have a neutral blazer, this one is great! It also comes in light gray, black, and navy. I’m wearing a size small and it runs true to size. It also comes in tall and petite length.
#7) Camel Silk Shirt
Underneath the blazer, I’m wearing a silk blouse in the same color family to create a monochromatic look. This blouse is another wonderful basic to have in your closet and also comes in black and navy. I’m wearing a small and it runs true to size. It also comes in petite sizing.
#8) Camel Wide-Leg Wool Pants
The real star of this look is the matching oversized wide-leg pants! This big, voluminous, oversized pant style has been on-trend for at least a year and I’m really loving it. These pants are made out of the same breathable wool as the blazer, they have flattering double pleating in the front, and a super flattering wide-leg silhouette. If you work in an office, I highly recommend giving these a try to change up your work wardrobe. I’m wearing a size 4 and they run true to size. They also come in tall and petite.
#9) Baggy Straight-Leg Jeans
In case the super wide-leg pants aren’t your thing, I also styled the wool blazer and silk blouse with a pair of baggy straight-leg jeans. This look is more casual because of the jeans but still very elevated and chic. I’m wearing a 26 in the regular length, but they also come in petite. Get your regular size if you want this more slouchy, oversized fit like I did, or size down one for a more fitted look.
#10) Cashmere Padded Shoulder Top
In this look, underneath the same camel wool blazer, I’m wearing an ivory cashmere sweater that’s another wonderful basic for fall layering. It has a loose, body-skimming fit, mock neck, and fun padded shoulders. It’s one of those basics with a twist I’m always talking about! I’m wearing a size small and it runs true to size.
#11) Brown Utility Pants
I styled the blazer and top with a pair of utility pants in a gorgeous dark chocolate brown color (called French Roast). They are a classic pair of pants with a few cool upgrades like the flattering belted waist and utilitarian-inspired seams and stitching. I’m wearing a size 4 in the regular length but they also come in petite. If this brown color doesn’t work with the other pieces in our wardrobe, they also come in green, black, tan, and cream.
#12) Lightweight Cashmere Scarf
I’ve ordered multiple scarves from Banana Republic and have never been disappointed! This cashmere scarf is lightweight and gauzy but still warm, the print is pretty, and it’s so versatile! We did a post on different ways to wear your scarf here in case you’re interested.
#13) Black One-Shoulder Top
Next up is a date night option! This top is a soft, cotton-modal blend that’s so stretchy and almost feels like a jersey material. It’s wrinkle-resistant and so comfy! I love the one-shoulder neckline that’s super flattering. This is a wonderful basic to have in your closet and only $60! You can wear this with pants, jeans, skirts, joggers, etc. I’m wearing a size small and it runs true to size. It also comes in a pretty blue color and in petite.
#14) Black Ponte Crop Flare Pants
With the one-shoulder top, I’m wearing a pair of black crop flare pants that are a must-have in every woman’s closet. They’re a Ponte knit material that has the perfect amount of structure and stretch so you feel comfortable but secure. They have a flattering seam down the front that really elongates the legs and the length is perfect. I’m wearing a size small in regular length but they also come in petite and tall inseams. You can wear these pants with a sexy top for date night like I did, with a blouse and blazer for the office, or with a sweater for a cozy, elevated look.
#15) Brown Corduroy Pants
I love a 70s vibe so I was really excited to try these corduroy pants! And…I love them. I’m wearing the super dark brown color called Costa Coffee Brown but they also come in navy and beige. They’re a great option if you like wearing jeans but want to change it up a bit. The flared-leg silhouette is very flattering too. I’m wearing a 27 in the petite length but they also come in regular and tall. They run true to size.
#16) White Ruffle High-Neck Silk Shirt
With the pants, I’m wearing another basic with a twist! This white blouse has a high tie-neck, ruffle details, and exaggerated cuffs…which all really elevate it and give it a little oomph. You could style this with any of the pants or jeans I’ve featured in this post…it’s that versatile! I’m wearing a small and it runs true to size.
