Everyday Styles For Spring
When it comes to chic and effortless style, French women have pretty much nailed it! They have this beautiful way of looking intentional and put together but also cool and laid back. Not overdone, but SO stylish! When packing for my recent trip to Paris Fashion Week, I knew I wanted to bring on ALL the style while staying true to that French vibe. I strategically packed a few spring pieces that could be styled for both cooler and warmer weather AND that were versatile enough for dressy and everyday outfits. (If you want to see everything I packed for that trip, make sure you read this post next!)
In this post, I’ll take a few key pieces and show you ways to style them for (elevated!) everyday looks this spring. These outfits are “chic décontracté”, as French women would say, or “casual smart”.
If you want to read more about my experience at the Dior Fashion Show during Paris Fashion Week and everything I wore for the event, this post has all the fun details.

Gorgeous Maxi Dress
In this first look, I’m wearing a Tory Burch strapless maxi dress, a Balmain blazer, and See By Chloe combat boots. It was still pretty chilly in Paris last month! For an everyday spring-style look, I’d swap the wool blazer for a lightweight denim jacket. I’d also swap the boots for a pair of sandals or slides. I have these Sam Edelman slides in brown and LOVE how easy and comfy they are. For the accessories, you could add a woven handbag and hat for a warm-weather vibe, along with a statement necklace. The dress is so versatile, you could wear it for a very casual or dressy occasion with just a few accessory swaps. It also has a matching one-shoulder, one-piece swimsuit that would be great for a vacation or resort look too!

On-Trend Wide Leg Trousers
Next, I wanted to share a way to style these super flattering Maje wide-leg trousers. In Paris, I wore them with a Maje tweed jacket, black pumps, and a white beret (because when in Rome, Paris right?). I love the button details on the side and the length is perfect for me with heels (I’m 5’4″). So, to style these trousers for warmer weather, I’ll wear them with this pretty blue top from Frame and these Veronica Beard woven wedges. I wore these wedges ALL last summer (now back in stock!). I just purchased this Veronica Beard convertible jacket for my trip to Africa and absolutely love it! The bottom portion zippers off, so you have both a cropped and mid-length jacket. 2 looks in one! I’d finish the look with some bold gold earrings and tortoise shell sunnies.

Blazer & Jeans
One of my all-time favorite combinations? Hands down, a blazer and jeans. For the streets of Paris, I really turned things up a notch by wearing the same Balmain blazer in the first look with a pair of Rag & Bone skinny jeans, a ruffled collar blouse, and some super sexy thigh-high boots. To recreate this look with an everyday twist, I’d swap out the wool blazer for my white, Cinq a Sept blazer. I love the one-button style, longer length, and the 3/4 ruched sleeves. Perfect for spring and summer! You could wear a cropped tank, regular tank, cami, or t-shirt underneath depending on how casual you want to look. I’d swap out the skinny jeans for my favorite R13 boyfriend jeans and some stylish sneakers! A blazer will always elevate your outfit. But with sneakers and a T-shirt it’s more casual yet still effortless and pulled together!

Cropped Trench & Jeans
When I saw this cropped trench by ACNE Studios, I knew it would be perfect for my trip. It’s so unique and special and a little more exciting than a regular trench. If you already have a classic trench, a cropped trench like this one (or the For Less option linked above) would be a great addition to your spring wardrobe. For Paris, I paired it with the same ruffled white top from the previous look and some suede platform booties. For a casual spring look, I’ll style it with my Mother fray hem white jeans, the eyelet blouse by Velvet, and my Chloe sneakers. A pretty, lightweight scarf and some statement gold hoops are the perfect accessories to finish off this look.

Versatile Jumpsuit
This last piece is another very versatile one that could be styled in many different ways. I love the way this Maje jumpsuit looks tucked into a pair of booties. But I’ll wear it with wedges or sandals as it gets warmer. I know black can seem a bit heavy for spring/summer. So, you can always break out the white accessories…to lighten up the look. In addition to being able to dress this jumpsuit up or down, it also works across all seasons depending on the shoes and accessories you choose. And, it’s incredibly comfortable too!

So how do you feel about jumpsuits? I know some women can’t be bothered with the undressing in the bathroom challenges 😉. But I for one LOVE the one-and-done aspect!
